Martina Rick graduated as a musical theater performer from the Swiss Musical Academy in 2004. President of Les Arts Scéniques since its founding in 2012, she has performed with its ensemble as Ginny in Alan Ayckbourn’s “Relatively Speaking” in Basel, Bern and Winterthur. At the LAS Martina Rick teaches acting classes for adults and children alongside her husband, Cary Rick. Under his direction Martina has appeared as Lena in Georg Büchner’s play, “Leonce and Lena” and is currently preparing to perform in the next LAS production, “Pretty Women”, a two woman show to be directed by Cary Rick for which she is also arranging the music.
Having taught voice and piano since 2006, Martina Rick completed the course for singers “Complete Vocal Academy” in 2013 at the Complete Vocal Institute in Copenhagen where she is, since September 2014, attending a three-year training program as an “Authorised CVT teacher”. Having successfully completed her second year there, she expects to graduate in June 2017. In Basel Martina Rick teaches and coaches singers, and also conducts introductory workshops in the CVT method in the framework of her own firm, Songwork.
